CEO, Director and Co-founder
Aaron Easterly has served as Rover’s chief executive officer since September 2011 and as a member of Rover’s board of directors since November 2011. Mr. Easterly cofounded Rover in 2011. Previously, Mr. Easterly served as entrepreneur in residence at Madrona Venture Group from May 2011 until September 2011 and in various positions, including general manager, advertising strategy and monetization, at Microsoft from 2007 until 2011. Mr. Easterly holds a B.A. in Economics with honors from Harvard University.
Tracy Knox has served as Rover’s chief financial officer since October 2017. Previously, Ms. Knox served as chief financial officer of Rightside from 2014 until 2017, as chief financial officer at A Place for Mom from 2013 until 2014, as chief financial officer at UIEvolution from 2011 until 2013, and at drugstore.com from 2003, including as chief financial officer from 2008 until 2011. Ms. Knox holds a B.S. in accounting from Indiana University and an M.B.A. with honors from University of Washington.
Brent Turner has served as Rover’s chief operating officer since January 2014. Previously, Mr. Turner served as president at Code Fellows from 2013 until 2014. Mr. Turner previously served on the board of several companies and as chairperson of the alumni board of directors of Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. Mr. Turner holds a B.S.E.E. in electrical engineering from University of Memphis and an M.B.A., operations, accounting, finance from Vanderbilt University – Owen Graduate School of Management.
Melissa Weiland joined Rover in February 2017. She has over 20 years of experience in corporate and transactional legal services. Before joining Rover, Ms. Weiland was proprietor of Legal Adjunct PLLC, where she handled technology and design licensing, media law (including music licensing), and other general corporate contracts and matters. Prior to that, she served as the general counsel at Accessory Design Holding, Inc. Ms. Weiland has earned her J.D. from Stanford University Law School and a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Megan Teepe has more than ten years of experience developing service organizations that deliver outstanding results for customers. She brings that experience and passion for excellence to Rover, leading the charge on international operations and expansion. Most recently, she worked as director of account management and operations at Marchex. She has also worked as a consultant in the environmental and transportation fields, and long ago trekked in the Honduran wilderness doing fieldwork. Ms. Teepe earned her undergraduate degree in geography and plan II from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
Jennifer Capasso has over 15 years of product management experience. Before Rover, she was senior director, product, and analytics at Expedia Group. Prior to Expedia, she was a product manager at WaMu. Ms. Capasso earned a B.B.A. from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and earned an M.B.A. from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
VP Data Science and Analytics
Matthew Sternberg joined Rover in August 2018 from Porch, where he was director of data science and analytics. Prior to Porch, he was a research associate at the University of Washington. Dr. Sternberg earned a B.S. in physics and mathematics from the University of Oregon, an M.S. in physics from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in nuclear and particle physics.
Nassir Samatar joined Rover in February of 2020. Prior to Rover, he was head of retail systems, product, and engineering at Coupang, senior manager, social shopping at Amazon, and held various roles at Enphase Energy, Dilithium Networks, and Alcatel. Mr. Samatar has an undergraduate degree from the University of Ottawa.
Derek Chang brings over 20 years of experience creating profitable growth by building customer focused products, services, and experiences. Prior to Rover, Mr. Chang worked at Alaska Airlines as the managing director of brand & product experience, overseeing the product redesign onboard the aircraft, the brand relaunch in airports, as well as managing the Alaska Airlines Lounge Operation. Previously he led Starbucks’ digital innovation in grocery channels and grew revenue by targeting loyalty members with a custom data append. Prior to that he led several teams at T-Mobile overseeing customer loyalty (CRM); sports and entertainment partnerships (major league sports, media, and entertainment partnerships); underserved segment (launching new products for credit challenged customers), and digital marketing and brand advertising.
Mr. Kong joined Rover in July 2019. He has over 18 years of experience in general management, marketing, promotional planning, growing revenue and profitability through rigorous analytics, expanding selling channels, and building brands. Prior to joining the Rover team, he was the chief growth officer at Vital Choice Wild Seafood and Organics. He also worked as chief digital marketing officer at Sears Holding Corporation as well as general manager at Walgreens E-commerce/Drugstore.com. Mr. Kong earned his M.B.A. from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. He earned his undergraduate degree in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.
VP of People and Culture
Ms. Teodorovic joined the Company in August 2016. She has over 15 years of experience in HR, talent management, talent acquisition, compensation, and culture development. Prior to joining Rover, she led the HR function at multiple VC-funded companies during their rapid growth phases. She also spent three years at Amazon leading recruiting efforts for the initial Amazon Alexa launch, building out the original team while the project was in V1 phase. Ms. Teodorovic holds a B.S. from the University of Washington in political science and economics.
